FAVAG

Favag is een Zwitsers merk en stamt rechtstreeks af van de uitvinder van de elektrische klok op het Europese vasteland, Matthäus Hipp. Favarger zette de fabriek van Hipp in Neuchâtel voort en vermeldde trots op zijn uurwerken: “Favarger et Cie, successeurs de Hipp”. Mijn Favag dateert uit de jaren 30 van de vorige eeuw en heeft nog immer het door Hipp uitgevonden contact dat pas sluit als de slingeruitslag beneden een bepaalde waarde komt, waardoor de slinger zo min mogelijk wordt gestoord. Deze moederklok heeft een contactwiel waarmee op gezette tijden kerkklokken werden geluid. De afwerking is subliem.

This master clock has a contac wheel to toll church bells at certain times.
